Trading Corporation of Pakistan Tuesday awarded the tender for the import of 50,000 metric tonnes of sugar to the second lowest bidder, after the lowest bidder failed to fulfill the terms of the bid document, according to Dow Jones.
TCP awarded the contract to Sadan General Trading of Dubai, which offered US$649.00 a tonne, Pakistan's The News reported a TCP official as saying.
The company refused to increase the quantity under the contract, while the remaining bidders refused to match the bid, the official said, the Web site reported.
