Moldova's government approved a request by the Union of Sugar Producers of Moldova to allow the import of 15,000 metric tonnes of duty-free sugar to prevent shortages in the country, according to Agra-Net.
The sugar has to be brought in before the next harvest (until September) from countries with which Moldova has a free trade agreement, in particular from the Russian Federation and Belarus.
