IRAN: GTC tenders for 50,000 tonnes Brazilian raws

Iran's Government Trading Corporation (GTC) tendered this week to buy 50,000 metric tonnes of Brazilian raw sugar for July 15 to August 15 shipment, according to Agra-Net.
GTC, Iran's state food buyer, is expected to play a bigger role in sugar imports in coming months as the Islamic Republic tries to secure stocks to avoid unrest and sidestep a sanctions-driven finance freeze that has affected private buyers, sources have told Reuters this month.
