CHINA: Yunnan sugar sales down 42% through May

Yunnan sold a total of 862,000 metric tonnes of sugar in the 2011/12 season as of end May, down from the 984,100 tonnes recorded in the same period a year ago, according to China's CapitalVue.

The sales ratio for the sugar sector during the period hit 42.81%.

According to the Yunnan Sugar Association, the province sold 181,700 tonnes of sugar in May, less than the 224,200 tonnes sold in April, and 257,500 tonnes sold in the same period a year ago.
