DJ MARKET TALK: Liffe Sugar Tumbles On Profit Taking 1043 GMT [Dow Jones] Liffe white sugar futures fall sharply as profit taking pressures the market, says Andrey Kryuchenkov, commodities analyst at VTB Capital. The "biggest fear" in the market is of a bumper Brazilian crop, says Kryuchenkov. Adds raw sugar is well supported at 18 cents a pound. May white sugar futures -$28.80, or 5.2%, at $526.50/ton. New York's most-active raw sugar futures -111 points, or 5.5%, at 19.21 cents a pound.
