Cargill sees 2009/10 deficit at 7.1 million tonnes

The world is expected to have a 7.1 million metric tonnes sugar deficit in 2009/10 (Oct-Sept), Bas van Goor, general manager of Cargill, Amsterdam, said in an address to the Feb. 7-9 Kingsman Dubai sugar conference, according to Reuters.
He gave no comparative figures.
